Only one day after Christmas, on Monday, January 1, 2019, the tragic news of the death of a female lawyer named Bolanle Raheem was announced on social media.
Raheem tragically lost her life on Christmas Day when a police officer in Lagos State’s Ajah neighborhood opened fire on the car she was riding in. The policeman was identified as ASP Drambi Vandi. A police officer tried to stop Raheem, her sister, and four of her kids as they were leaving a restaurant at around 11 o’clock in the morning.
She was making a U-turn below the Ajah Bridge when the officer opened fire on Raheem’s car. The woman was reportedly hit by the gunshot and taken to the hospital, where it was later determined that her death was unavoidable.

Cause Of Death
The deceased woman was reportedly shot by a police officer assigned to the Ajiwe police station as she and her family were returning home from a Christmas service in Ajah, Lagos state.
The incident has drawn criticism from a number of people, and the Lagos police command has reported that an assistant superintendent of police (ASP) and two other police officers are being detained in connection with the incident.
